WHY DO I NEED TO CLEANSE?
• Cleansing goes back 5000 years to ancient times. We are all exposed to toxins. We ingest them. We breathe them. Our skin soaks them in. However, in North America, we are only focuses on colonics, or colon cleansing. These can be hard on the system and can strip the colon of the good flora. And they do not address the rest of the body
• The body, especially the liver, begins to produce fat cells to enrobe the toxins and protect us. Less toxins = less fat cell production.
TOXINS KILL:
• The FDA found a family of harmful chemicals called phthalates in a variety of beauty products including nail polish, lipstick, and perfumes, with side effects including: liver and kidney failure, heart failure, lungs and bladder problems, and harmful to the reproductive development of fetuses and infants.
• Windex has butylcellosolve, a neurotoxin that has been shown to kill brain cells
• Lysol contains dioxin, which is 500,000 times more deadly than DDT
• Deodorants have been linked to Alzheimer’s disease due to aluminum content
• Fresh produce in the market today are found to be treated with 72 herbicides, pesticides, growth hormones, and other toxic chemicals.
FAT COUNT:
• Obesity rate among adults in the US (30.6% in 2002) is the highest in the world.
• Obesity leads to over 60 degenerative diseases
• Every 20 lbs. of visceral fat is equal to smoking one pack of cigarettes a day with the damage that it does to the heart.
• GI doctors are now seeing children 12-14 yrs of age with colon problems that don’t normally occur in adults until they were well into their 40’s.
• If you are overweight, vigorous exercise puts a strain on the body and causes it to produce cortisol. Cortisol is not meant to be in the body for an extended period of time, hence, the adrenal glands become stressed, which causes the body to gain weight.
THAT SWEET STUFF:
• Aspartame was introduced in 1980, and is 180 times sweeter than sugar without any calorie output. In the intestinal tract, it converts into something you all have probably heard of: formaldehyde.
• “False sugars” actually make you fat. How? The more sweet the taste without the accompanying calories that stimulate the taste buds, the greater the urge to overeat. This is particularly dangerous for diabetics.
WATER POWER:
• Water is so important! We need to drink at least half our body weight in ounces each day. (Example: 150 lbs body weight = 75 ounces of water a day)
• Chronic, unintentional dehydration can lead to many health problems.
• Its pH value is 7
pH BALANCE:
• Most people have pH below optimal (7), meaning they are acidic. Disease rests in an acidic body.
• Coffee, soda, stress, drugs, processed food make your body acidic. One can of soda renders your immune system inoperative for up to 3 hours.
• It was proven in 1936 by a scientist who was awarded the Nobel Prize that at a pH of 7.2 cancer cells go dormant, and that at a pH of 8.3 cancer cells die. They DIE.
ENZYMES ARE IMPORTANT:
• 3 types: Food enzymes, Digestive enzymes, Metabolic enzymes
• Food enzymes (FE) are necessary in the digestive process, but they are killed the minute you cook, microwave, or freeze your food.
• Digestive enzymes (DE) allow the nutrients to go inside the cells. Digestive enzymes are not present in processed food. When there is not enough of them
(FE and DE), your body thinks you are not getting enough nutrition, and you become hungrier than you actually are. Also, the body starts to rob metabolic enzymes to do DE’s job.
• Metabolic enzymes are used in rebuilding your cells and for cell replication. When not enough metabolic enzymes are present in rebuilding your cells, imperfect cell duplication starts to happen, which leads to auto-immune diseases and cancer.
• Enzymes also detoxify the body.
